Flickr Android app, finally.

Posted on | September 29, 2011 |

Finally, Official Flickr app for Android is here. Ever since I upgraded to the Android smartphone, I’ve been looking for a good app for Flickr. They have one for iPhone for ages, but didn’t care about Android.

The app has in-app camera and can upload the photos directly to flickr, or share it via facebook, twitter & email. Its seamless integration with flickr and the associated goodies that results in is a killer.

In its first cut, the app lets you

  • Click, share photos, and customize privacy settings.
  • Full screen slideshows of your and your friend’s photos.
  • Add titles, comments, description, tags while uploading.
  • Automatically geotags photos using the device’s GPS.

Flickr’s mobile website is not bad for viewing photos and posting comments, but a native app for Android was much needed. I hope Flickr is not late for the Android platform and would become the image sharing app of choice soon.

Install Flickr for Android app from the android market.
