Create annotated website screenshots with Fireshot

Posted on | October 8, 2008 |

Don’t like Print screen for taking screenshots of web pages? Not happy with regular screenshot programs available for your OS? Try Fireshot, a Firefox extension to take web page screenshots, add some minor editing touchups and annotate the important parts.

Fireshot comes as a Firefox addon to take screenshots of web pages and quickly edit the capture, add text or graphical annotations, smudge some part, invert the color, or highlight some section by converting other areas to greyscale.

Its an ideal program if you want to get some quick mockups done of a design and want to import the capture into a presentation. Fireshot removed the need to load up heavy image editors for performing simple tasks. Fireshot is available for free for Firefox and Internet Explorer, however its not available for Firefox on Mac yet. There’s a pro version available for those who need several extra features.
